German Fest has long been a Milwaukee tradition held annually on the Summerfest grounds, along the beautiful shoreline of Lake Michigan. One of the largest German festivals in North America, German Fest Milwaukee is known for its authentic food, culture and entertainment. The United Donauschwaben of Milwaukee has been there since its inception, and we continue to be largely involved though our food booths as well as our Kinder, Jugend, and Kulturgruppe performing throughout the weekend.
Holiday Folk Fair International

Holiday Folk Fair International, America's premier multicultural festival and a program of the International Institute of Wisconsin, celebrates the cultural heritage of the people living in southeastern Wisconsin. This event allows Fair-goers the opportunity to learn the ways in which various cultures approach music, food, dance, arts, and crafts. The United Donauschwaben of Milwaukee is a long-time supporter of Holiday Folk Fair, and each year boasts a popular food booth and over 30 performances from our three dance groups throughout the weekend.

Our Maiball is hosted by our Jugendgruppe. Our youth dancers wear their best formal wear and deliver an elegant performance after crowning the new May Prince and Princess. Begin the evening with a delicious meal, and end by dancing to Austrian Express as they play the night away for your enjoyment.
Father's Day Picnic

As the weather starts warming up, our Father's Day Picnic marks our first event of the year in our outside Pavilion and Biergarten. Come out and celebrate your Dad (or Opa) at our annual Picnic. Come early for a German Mass, enjoy live music from your favorite German band, dance performances throughout the day, and delicious food fresh from our kitchen. This event will be sure to make your Father's day special!

Traubenfest celebrates the grape harvest for making into wine! This event involves grapes hanging from the ceiling over the dance floor, just waiting to be stolen. But be careful... If the Polizei catch you, you'll have to pay the Judge a fine!
Come enjoy music from Johnny Hoffmann und Die Herzbuben, as well as dance performances from our auxiliary groups.

Frohe Weihnachten! Come and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year among friends and family at our UDoM Christmas Party. Come early for mass, stay for a delicious lunch, and enjoy our childrens' program as they sing your favorite German Christmas songs. Maybe, if you're lucky, jolly old Saint Nick will come and give good boys and girls a gift!

Holiday Frauen Bazaar

Join the UDoM Frauengruppe as they host their annual “Holiday Bazaar.” Come early for mass or stop in for a delicious homemade lunch of Schnitzel or Goulash beginning at noon. Start your holiday shopping early by browsing the rummage and craft sale including a gently-used dirndl sale, fun jewelry, children’s toys, games and used books. Pick up a tasty treat at the bake sale featuring homemade boxed Christmas cookies and as always, card players are welcome! Admission and parking is free and open to the public. Gather your friends and family and attend this great event!

A Schlachtfest is the German term for the ritual or ceremonial slaughter of an animal, which is often followed by a feast. Today, it usually refers to the practice in many parts of Germany for a celebration or festival where many different meats are served. Our Schlactfest doesn't fall short -- There is a large meal followed by dance performances from our Auxiliary groups. Then, spend the rest of the evening listening to a live German band, and perfecting your polka!
